Chankanaab Park in Cozumel

Sea Trek ReservationsChankanaab Natural Park

Chankanaab (Mayan name that means "small sea") is actually a coastal cenote (sink hole) of particular ecological importance. Unique in the world to be connected to the sea through underwater caverns allowing the development of diverse marine life.

Chankanaab was the first tourist attraction in Cozumel. This natural treasure and heritage of the island´s inhabitants invite you to live the incredible experience of being part of our little earthly paradise.

At Chankanaab you may choose to experience an adventure, like swimming with a dolphin, flying through the air on a zip-line, a kayak trip or having fun at the sea lion show.

You can also explore the underwater world of Chankanaab through Sea Trek adventures for the entire family. If you can walk and breathe, you can Sea Trek. Experience the thrill of exploring the ocean and all its wonders without giving up precious vacation time for specialized training. Sea Trek is the world's premier underwater helmet diving experience. Imagine walking in zero gravity while surrounded by incredible aquatic life!

Snuba ReservationsAnother underwater experience is Snuba, a unique shallow water diving system, bridging the gap between snorkeling and scuba diving. Snuba is safe, easy and does not require certification. Even if you have never snorkeled or can't swim, Snuba diving is available for you. Snuba is easily accessible to couples, families, children and seniors. It is a great way for a certified diver to introduce non-certified partners to the underwater breathing experience.

You can also rent snorkeling or scuba equipment and further engage in your underwater adventures with a visit to the submerged statue of the Christ and Mayan sculptures.

For more fun enjoy other activities such as visiting the crocodile exhibition, participate in a temazcal session (Mayan steam bath) or enjoy a tequila tasting. Relax in one of the hammocks or lounge chairs on the white sandy beach while refreshing with your favorite beverage.

Go deep into the Mesoamerican cultures through the archeological replicas path and stroll through the botanical gardens and alongside the natural lagoon where you will discover more than 200 species of native plants found on the island.

When the time to relax has come, you can reserve your favorite massage at the SPA while overlooking the lagoon.
Accessible within Chankanaab Natural Park are a variety of shops offering traditional Mayan and Mexican souvenirs and other outdoor necessities. With so much to do at Chankanaab Natural Park anyone can experience the true essence of Cozumel!
